Yukio Yokoyama (piano) is one of Japan's most popular and talented pianists. After becoming the youngest Japanese ever to win a prize at the 12th International Chopin Piano Competition, he has remained active at the forefront of music, and in 2021 will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his debut.He has earned the trust and respect of leading orchestras and artists throughout Japan, and has also been highly acclaimed for his 10-year career as a personality on Tokyo FM and for the production of dozens of CDs. In recent years, he has attracted attention for his spectacular projects such as the three-day concert of Chopin's 240 pieces at Tokyo Opera City during the Golden Week holidays two years ago, and the two-day concert of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan's Main Hall at the end of last year, commemorating the 250th anniversary of his birth.
